Hi,

The FAS Campus Energy Reduction Program is running a "light bulb swap"
campaign.

If you have an incandescent or halogen light bulb in your desk light, please bring it to the office of Eric Leibensperger: Pierce Hall 110J, this Friday, between 12 and 2pm and it will get replaced with a more efficient 15W CFL (compact fluorescent light).

CFLs
* Are much more efficient because they use just one-third of the energy of regular bulbs
* They last up to 10 times longer, they're cheaper in the long run
* You can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1000 lbs. or more when you use them.
* And with today's technology, the quality of light from CFLs is indistinguishable from their obsolete incandescent counterparts.

In the recent Harvard Sustainability Pledge campaign, over 2000 Harvard staff, faculty, and students pledged to use compact fluorescent bulbs in their desk lights. Because of the strong
interest in this measure, the FAS Campus Energy Reduction Program decided to run this campaign in order to make the switch to CFLs as easy as possible.
